Muchas veces, descubrir música se puede hacer no solo a través de ver nuevas bandas o colaboraciones, sino también, a raíz de un tema que nos gusta mucho. Así lo pensó Spotalike, cuya premisa es simple: “danos tu track favorito y te daremos una playlist con canciones similares que vas a amar”.
De origen sueco, al igual que el gigante de la música Spotify, el servicio se puede acceder a través de la web y simplemente necesita que tipees el nombre de tu canción favorita. Con el apoyo de Last.fm, en su versión beta (lo que significa que está en prueba), Spotalike es una opción única para los melómanos que llevan tatuadas a fuego sus canciones favoritas. Fue desarrollada por Osynlig, una agencia de diseño UX (user experience), y cuenta en el último mes un total de 403.000 usuarios usando el servicio en todo el mundo. OSYNLIG: Todo comenzó en 2011. Spotify era nuevo y emocionante, pero no estábamos contentos con las canciones que recomendaba. Se hacía difícil descubrir nueva música. Entonces decidimos intentar construir una mejor solución. Lo investigamos y nos dimos cuenta de que Last.fm tenía mucho mejor algoritmo para encontrar nuevas canciones, así que lo usamos para crear listas de reproducción y facilitar su escucha con Spotify. ¿En qué basa el algoritmo las similitudes de las canciones?
O: El algoritmo analiza qué canciones están escuchando las personas que escuchan tu canción y hace recomendaciones basadas en eso. Por eso también demora que estén disponibles las canciones más nuevas, ya que lleva tiempo recopilar datos suficientes para saber qué otras canciones están escuchando las personas en relación con la que se buscó.
Dado que es una versión "beta", ¿planea lanzar su versión completa o será así?
O: Estamos llenos de ideas y nos encantaría trabajar más en Spotalike de lo que podemos hacer hoy.
