La God Level All Stars, la competencia de duplas más grande del ámbito del freestyle, hizo su primera fecha este domingo al aire libre en el Estadio Obras, dejando una interesante jornada para los fans de las batallas. En esta primera fecha (de tres, faltan Perú el 10 y Chile en enero), se consagraron como ganadores el rosarino Stuart y el peruano Jaze. El argentino entró como reemplazante del español Bnet con unos pocos días de aviso, y fue parte fundamental para la victoria de la dupla.
Entre tantas novedades y raperos de renombre, era fácil agobiarse ante el exceso de información y oferta planteado por God Level. Las 16 duplas incluían a la elite más alta del freestyle internacional: Chuty, Aczino, Zasko, Yartzi, Lancer Lirical, Lobo Estepario, por mencionar a algunos. También había talento local de sobra. Entre algunos de los argentinos compitiendo encontrábamos a Trueno, Zaina, Klan, Dtoke, Papo, etc.
La propuesta era más que atractiva y la estructura creaba dinámicas muy interesantes entre las duplas y en los enfrentamientos. A continuación, dejamos una serie de reflexiones que podemos hacer con la cabeza más fría, la cuales nos permiten analizar lo que queda de la competencia.
EL FORMATO, CUANTO MENOS RARO
Desde octavos, todas las batallas se comprendieron de tres rounds de 4x4 (fuego cruzado, respuestas inmediatas) que duraban 120 segundos cada uno. Esto hacía las batallas muy largas y pesadas, y lo sentían tanto los raperos como el público. La falta de estímulos y lo «quemada» que estaban las discusiones para cuando llegaba el tercer round hacían que varios de estos sean un tanto desmotivantes y con poco para ofrecer. Una mejor alternativa hubieran sido dos rounds, rondas más cortas o que la cantidad de rondas aumente conforme avanza la competencia, no desde octavos de final.
Los estímulos en rondas más adelante eran los correctos (palabras, imágenes), pero la duración de las batallas hacía que pierdan un poco de magia, usualmente sobre la instancia final. Habrá que ver como afecta esto el desarrollo de las fechas restantes, o si los raperos logran encontrarle la vuelta para hacer batallas tan pesadas un poco más amenas e interesantes, argumentalmente hablando.
LIT KILLAH NUNCA SE FUE
Uno de los atractivos más grandes de la jornada fue la vuelta a las competencias del trapero Lit Killah, legendario gallo nacido en El Quinto Escalón. Su exitosa carrera musical hacía difícil imaginarlo volviendo a un ambiente tan complicado como el del free, pero las ganas lo superaron y se dio el gusto. “Tengo shows todos los fines, no queda libre ni uno, y rechacé una banda pa’ venir a partirte el culo”, le gritó en la cara a Stuart. El argentino hizo dupla con el campeón español Zasko, y el parecido de sus estilos generó un gran interés. El dúo cayó en primera ronda contra los campeones, pero fue Lit Killah quien se llevó todos los aplausos en su equipo (y se lo vio cargarse el team a los hombros en varias situaciones). Todas sus intervenciones tuvieron algún flow distinto, skills muy notorias y la esencia que Lit tenía en la competencia del Parque Rivadavia; resultaba difícil creer que no se había subido a batallar en dos años.
Después de su excelente participación y del gran recibimiento del público, es seguro asumir que tendremos más de Lit Killah en batallas, seguramente con menos regularidad que competidores constantes, pero con la calidad de uno que entrena todo el día.
NADIE TIENE NADA ASEGURADO
La dupla ganadora fue una especie de sorpresa, por la poca anticipación de Stuart y el desconcierto de Jaze. Había varias duplas pesadas que eran claros favoritos para llevarse los puntos la primera fecha: Aczino y Chuty, Skone y Papo, Dtoke y Stigma, etc Sin embargo, todas estas cayeron en rondas tempranas y, junto con la eliminación de Zasko y Lit Killah, se llevaron una gran parte de la emoción previa al evento. Las rondas más avanzadas tuvieron como protagonistas a los gallos de menor alcance mundial (históricamente hablando), pero que están atravesando algunos de los mejores momentos de su carrera. Incluso la dupla BTA y Valles T dio un increíble show durante sus dos batallas, dejando una de las mejores rondas de toda la jornada. Habrá que esperar a ver cómo cambian su situación los favoritos en las fechas restantes.
STUART, EL MÁS PELIGROSO DE ARGENTINA
Desde antes de la final nacional de la Red Bull, muchos gallos admitían no querer cruzarse con el rosarino, y con justa razón. Durante un toda la tarde Stuart probó por qué lo llamaron a él para suplir al español. Encima del escenario transmite seguridad, sus ataques están bien construidos y llevan una línea argumental muy fuerte a la que a veces es difícil sobreponerse. Fue tan fundamental el papel de Stuart en su equipo, que fue él quien les consiguió la victoria al vencer a Trueno en una réplica en la final. Sin lugar a duda, hoy en día es el mejor gallo del país.
EL FUTURO ARGENTINO PROMETE
Otro gran acierto fue la inclusión del cordobés Mecha, que reemplazó al chileno El Menor con un día de aviso, e hizo dupla con Zaina. Esta era la pareja más joven del evento por mucho, pero una de las que más lejos llegó también. Con grandes rimas y una actitud desafiante, la pareja avanzó hasta semifinales, donde perdió en una polémica batalla contra la dupla de Trueno y Letra. Ver a dos chicos de tan corta edad hacerle frente a la elite mundial emociona, e ilusiona a los seguidores del free argentino con un par de futuros nombres locales en lo más alto del circuito de competencia.
FALTA LO MEJOR
Con la primera fecha (y todas las novedades que esta trae) terminada y la segunda a nada de darse, podemos empezar a reflexionar sobre qué veremos en lo que queda de la competencia. Es lógico asumir que en la segunda fecha los participantes estarán más conectados entre ellos como equipo, ya que cuesta adaptarse a improvisar con alguien en un solo día. Por otro lado, habrán también descifrado la mecánica de este formato y tendrán que encontrar la manera de mantener la chispa de la batalla viva durante toda su duración.
