Ese fue el salto que le faltaba para su internacionalización y, quizás, lo que dotó de confianza a todos sus exponentes para saber que tenían en sus manos la fórmula del éxito.
El 2018 fue un año en el que el género invadió espacios que no le pertenecían antes: medios tradicionales, recintos de conciertos de gran escala, festivales, etc. El trap se volvió el fenómeno que hacía que algunos se rasquen la cabeza, cuanto menos, y en el peor de los casos lograba que adultos con trabajo y vidas hechas se sintieran obligados a ir a las redes sociales a criticar, en reiteradas ocasiones, el estado de la música actual.
