En octubre publicó ‘UVE’, su primer sencillo solista producido por Carlos Ares y con un video filmado por Hector Prats que fue “todo hecho entre amigos a los que le pedí el favor de ayudarme porque estaba sin un mango. Todo el proceso fue muy guay y estoy super happy con el resultado porque hay mucho amor y mucha complicidad”.

Carlota comenta que hoy por hoy se siente más cercana a la música argentina que a la española, y eso tiene que ver con su infancia y su desarrollo porque “en España es bastante diferente, hay un sonido muy actual pero no es un estilo que me guste a nivel sonoro para identificarme”. Hablando de música argentina elige a Chita o Clara Cava para posibles colaboraciones y tiene palabras de elogio para Ca7triel, de quien le gustan “tanto la estructura como las letras y las melodías. Me lleva un poco a mi infancia aunque sea muy actual lo que hace, no se cómo ni por qué pero me sucede”. Además, dijo que la última banda que le voló la cabeza fue Nafta, por su gran sonido y precisión.
Piensa que le gustaría sacar un EP pero que la situación la trae bastante complicada, que quiere trabajar en un estudio y que todo eso se mete en su producción, pero que no quiere escribir algo de la cuarentena. Le preguntamos por esos temas que le cuesta comunicar en una charla pero que elige cantar y nos respondió que “no puedo hacer un tema que no hable nada, un tema confeti. Me encantaría hacer una canción que diga que estoy con mis amigas de joda y ya, pero me cuesta mucho, mi cerebro entiende el escribir y componer como algo que revuelve mierda de adentro y la saca para afuera”.
La extensa charla iba llegando a su final, y la última pregunta la hizo reír porque le pedimos que se ponga en el papel de una persona que no sea ella y nos cuente por qué alguien debería escuchar a Carlota Urdiales. Nos respondió que “igual la mina no es Christina Aguilera y no tiene mucha técnica, pero todo sale del corazón y todo lo que sale del corazón vale la pena. Si quieren sentirse bien, escúchenme”. Como la última frase pareció darle pudor, remató: “qué mal, ¿no? quién era”. Ella se rió quizás por la vergüenza que a veces genera hablar bien de une misme tan directamente y más frente a alguien desconocide.
