Bluhauz es un proyecto que nace de la búsqueda expresiva plena de un artista encontrando su sonido con el de bluseros que lo inspiran como Eric Clapton, BB King y Stevie Ray Vaughan, influencias sumadas a la sonoridad rockera de Led Zeppelin y Jimi Hendrix. Sebastián Fernández (creador del proyecto) es egresado de la Berklee College of Music y, hace algunos años, se radicó en Estados Unidos donde formó Stone Giant junto a Joao Nogueira (teclados), Apoena Frota (bajo) y Pepe Hidalgo (batería). La banda lo llevó a presentarse en las ediciones 2016 del Lollapalooza Argentina y Chile, el Personal Fest de ese mismo año y el Festival Bue del 2017.
SPE: ¿Sentís que tu proyecto solista es una continuidad en tu carrera o un nuevo comienzo?
Bluhauz: Lo siento como una mezcla de esas dos cosas. Todo es una continuidad de mi carrera, y me llevo la experiencia de todo lo que hice. Pero, también, lo veo como un nuevo comienzo para seguir explorando mi música, me motiva ver a dónde puede llevarme esta etapa solista. Nuevo comienzo, pero con más experiencia encima y aprendiendo de mis logros, así como de mis errores.

SPE: ¿Cómo fue la composición de ‘Purify my Soul’?
B: A principios del 2019 me puse la meta de largarme como solista. En los primeros meses (desde enero a marzo) escribí unos 150 demos, los cuales no todos estaban terminados, sino que eran ideas de las que después elegí algunas canciones. En esas cosas de la vida, ‘Purify My Soul’ fue el primer demo que escribí de esos 150... Y bueno, terminó siendo el que saqué primero. También el contenido la canción me pareció algo simbólico para arrancar. Era un blues bien lento, pero después empecé a convencerme más del uptempo con dance, y cuando lo probé, me encantó.
SPE: ¿Qué te moviliza para escribir, ya sea letras o melodías? ¿Cuál de las dos surge primero?
B: Mi instinto musical siempre fue escribir primero la música, melodías, riffs, etc. Ahí veo de qué quiero hablar en la canción. A veces, también inconscientemente, cantas algo en el demo que te termina dando una pista de cómo tendría que ser la letra. Para esta nueva etapa me interesa mucho hablar de mi perspectiva del mundo, universo, humanidad, sociedad, etc. Como artista hay que aprovechar este momento y expresar algo profundo. En mi opinión. El que quiere cantar sobre las botellas de vodka que se toma en el boliche, bienvenido sea, pero yo no.
SPE: ¿Qué disfrutas más en tus canciones, componerlas o tocarlas en vivo?
B: Las dos cosas van muy de la mano. Cuando compongo, ya me voy imaginando cómo sería tocarlas en vivo. Cuando tengo los demos y los escucho, mi imaginación naturalmente empieza a fantasear con el momento de tocar, y cuando llega, es una experiencia muy buena. Me encanta presentarme en vivo y compartir con la gente ese momento espiritual.

SPE: Siendo un argentino formado musicalmente fuera del país, ¿cómo ves nuestro público y la respuesta en tus shows acá, en relación a otro público?
B: Argentina siempre fue, es, y será de los mejores públicos del mundo para un músico. Te lo dicen los Guns N' Roses, ACDC, Metallica, Rolling Stones y todos. Hay una mística y energía muy fuerte. Me encanta.
SPE ¿Qué beneficios nuevos encontrás en esta etapa como solista?
B: Me motiva arrancar de nuevo con más experiencia, aprendiendo de todo lo que hice y sabiendo qué cosas quiero hacer distintas en esta etapa solista. Me beneficia mucho, al momento de escribir y producir, poder hacer lo que yo quiero al 100%.
SPE: ¿Qué metas tenés pendientes dentro de este año?
B: La primera meta de plantar la semilla ya fue cumplida. Fue muy importante para mí sacar mi primera canción solista. Ahora voy a ir sacando más temas y videoclips a lo largo de los meses, hasta lanzar mi disco entero y salir a tocar nuevamente. Vuelvo con toda y más consistente.
