Habiendo estado en la escena musical por casi dos décadas, el grupo Bicicletas3000 (antes Bicicletas) logra mantener el cuerpo del indie intacto. Sin embargo, en su próximo disco homónimo (cuyo lanzamiento será el 25 de septiembre) renuevan sus células probando sonidos más electrónicos acompañados por la base de una Roland 808. El grupo compuesto por Federico Wiske (voz y guitarras), Ruki Pardo (bajo, sintetizadores y coros), Diano Repetto (batería electrónica y coros) y Nacho Valdez (sintetizadores, piano, guitarras y coros) se adapta a la cultura de lo digital y propone una nueva perspectiva al género que los destaca. En esta ocasión, SPE tuvo la posibilidad de conversar con Fede y Ruki sobre las innovaciones musicales y el motivo que sostiene su nuevo álbum.
¿En qué se inspiraron para el nuevo disco?
Federico Wiske: Nos gustan mucho la esencia del arte y la tecnología, por lo que nos vamos enganchando con las nuevas estéticas de la época que incluyen estos aspectos. Por eso la implementación del sonido basado en el beat, con la ayuda de nuestro productor y amigo Ezequiel ‘El Panda’ Spinelli.
Ruki Pardo: A su vez, convivimos con entidades de varios ámbitos artísticos como lo son, entre otros, Huxley, Keith Haring y hasta Spinetta. Todos ellos tienen algo en común: son gente con sed de conocimiento, con ganas de explorar la vida y de entender cómo funcionan las cosas. Esto se traduce en nuestra voluntad de experimentación en lo musical. Lo más importante es mantener la curiosidad; nos gusta tener siempre la mente abierta y no limitarnos a lo predecible.
“LA ANSIEDAD ES UNO DE LOS FANTASMAS QUE AFECTAN NUESTRA MANERA DE VIVIR”
¿Cómo llegaron a la fusión de estos artistas de diferentes universos?
RP: Uno al hacer música no se nutre únicamente de ella sino de varias formas de arte. Al final terminás creando una obra en base a lo que fuiste recopilando en la búsqueda de los intereses que perseguís. Las expresiones artísticas, en general, son interdisciplinarias porque todo tiene que ver con todo, que es un poco lo que tratamos en el álbum: la unicidad que compartimos con el universo.
FW: También los artistas sobre los que nos inspiramos para nuestro imaginario creativo tienen una misma cosmovisión que se relaciona con la cultura psicodélica. Está la idea de que hay que vivir la vida experimentando, aprendiendo y sin saciarse de conocimiento. Es muy loco cómo las obras de arte se influencian entre sí y se cruzan los terrenos.
Entre otras temáticas, desarrollan lo distópico de las ideas. ¿Tiene alguna relación con la pandemia?
RP: En realidad veníamos trabajando el asunto de conectarse con uno mismo desde antes de la cuarentena y nos vino joya; nos sentimos Nostradamus [risas]. Con el confinamiento, de golpe se vuelve importante nuestro mundo interno. Requiere de un esfuerzo emocional con uno mismo y lidiar con lo que en la vieja normalidad no se reflexionaba por «falta de tiempo».
FW: Lo que hizo la pandemia fue exacerbar este concepto y hacerlo evidente. ‘Clave Simple Mental Suave’, que es un mantra ansiolítico incluido en el proyecto, busca bajar la ansiedad, uno de los fantasmas que está invadiendo el estilo de vida de nuestra sociedad. En general no nos cuestionamos nada y damos todo por sentado, nos apuramos a juzgar y de repente está bueno reflexionar sobre nuestra escala cultural de valores para ver por qué nos dejamos estresar por ciertas cosas.

Se nota también cierta influencia oriental…
FW: Sí, definitivamente hay una inspiración taoísta: la idea de saber si estás en la cresta de la ola para ver si tenés que bajar, o entender que estás abajo y tenés que hacer fuerza para llegar a la cima. La magia de esta vida radica en no saber cuándo hay que apretar o cuándo hay que soltar, y en el medio ir surfeando y tanteando. En la cultura que vivimos hace falta apreciar el mundo interno y que esté presente para que tenga un peso sustancial. Por eso creo que hay un desequilibrio conceptual en la manera de pensar occidental.
¿Qué importancia tienen las metáforas en su forma de expresión? ¿Prevalecen sobre el sonido?
FW: La letra y la música suceden juntas. Lo que hace la metáfora es dejar en evidencia un momento de inflexión que se vuelve universal; de esa forma le abrís la puerta al que escucha para que la pueda interpretar a su manera desde su esquema mental. Cuando escribimos nos imaginamos una suerte de «expansión metafísica» que se aleja de lo terrenal, pero también incluimos palabras urbanas para volver un poco a esta realidad.
RP: Los humanos pensamos en un idioma y con un orden que nos permite categorizar al mundo. Nosotros, con los recursos literarios, buscamos escaparnos un poco de ese sentido estricto y rígido que le damos a las palabras. Incluso una necesidad rítmica en la composición le puede ganar a lo semántico, y entonces se crea un juego de palabras que te sacan de lo estructurado del lenguaje. Así nos extendemos un poco del uso categórico de los términos, lo que invita a nuevos universos.
¿Tienen pensado hacer un show por streaming presentando el trabajo de estudio?
RP: Vamos a tratar de hacer algo antes de fin de año. Va a ser muy raro porque nos acostumbramos a tocar con el cuerpo, pero no nos cerramos frente a las nuevas alternativas.
